Commercial export of electricity from Ukraine to Europe will start on June 30, says German Galushchenko

All generating companies will have equal access to commercial electricity exchange through transparent auctions.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"ENTSO-E has made a long-awaited decision on the official launch on June 30, 2022 of commercial electricity exports from Ukraine to Europe. The initial export volume is 100 MW, and the volumes will increase gradually, after the monthly ENTSO-E impact assessment on the European energy system. Technically, our power system can already provide up to 1,690 W of electricity for export. After the implementation of additional technical measures, the capacity for the sale of electricity abroad may increase to 4-5 GW," said the Minister.

He stressed that the gradual increase in electricity exports will bring funds to stabilize the financial condition of the Ukrainian energy market. European countries, in turn, will have an opportunity to ensure a more stable energy supply and replace russian energy resources.
