Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Romania discussed the possibility of expanding export corridors

The support of the victims of the war, economic security and the recovery of Ukraine were the topics for discussion in Kyiv by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă. The meeting was also attended by the Speaker of the Romanian Parliament Marcel Ciolacu and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu.

In the context of russia's blockade of Ukrainian ports in order to create a food crisis in the world, Denys Shmyhal and Nicolae Ciucă discussed the possibility of expanding the already established export corridors through Romania and using additional opportunities of Romanian seaports.

«In order to increase transit capacity between Ukraine and Romania, we would also like to consider opening the Dyakivtsi (Ukraine) – Racovăț (Romania) checkpoint as soon as possible and granting it the status of a freight checkpoint in the future», said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine commended Bucharest’s active participation on international platforms in order to support our country in the fight against russian aggression, as well as to back Ukraine’s European integration.
