Prime Ministers of Ukraine and the Netherlands have agreed to organize business missions for investors

Ukraine expects an increase in investment flows from the Netherlands, which is one of the leaders in terms of investment in the Ukrainian economy. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte in Kyiv on February 2.

Denys Shmyhal noted that the volume of investments from the Netherlands to Ukraine’s economy as of October 1, 2021, amounted to more than USD 11 billion.

«The Netherlands is an important trade and economic partner of Ukraine and one of the major investors in the Ukrainian economy. I am convinced that due to joint work the volume of these investments can increase significantly. This applies not only to traditional areas of cooperation, but also to the most advanced areas of cooperation, such as land reclamation, mining and engineering,» said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.

For his part, Mark Rutte proposed to organize business missions on bilateral issues for existing and potential investors. Denys Shmyhal supported the initiative, noting that representatives of line ministries could be involved in such meetings.

«Business missions could be organized on the basis of embassies with the participation of government officials. For our part, we shall organize a similar business mission to the Kingdom of the Netherlands to find common ground in areas of interest to both sides,» said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Mark Rutte, in turn, noted that the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as one of the largest investor countries, is ready to continue to cooperate and support Ukraine.
